Environmental
Site Audits
PBA has been involved in a number of pre-acquisition
site audits which assist companies to make informed decisions
about the environmental risks associated with planned acquisitions
and divestitures. The reviews have considered past, present
and potential future usage and determined the level of compliance
with existing and proposed legislation and company environmental
policy.
Environmental site audits can provide data on existing environmental
conditions, the environmental impact of existing site usage
and it's implications for future development.
A recent change in Health & Safety legislation requires
that property owners and building services managers be aware
of the amount and type of asbestos materials present within
buildings. An up to date asbestos register should be maintained
in order to identify asbestos materials. Those which represent
an unacceptable health risk due to their condition and or
type of asbestos will be required to be removed from site
in order to protect the health of building occupants.
PBA have undertaken a number of site audits for heavy
industrial sites, mineral extraction sites and waste landfill
sites both in the UK and Europe. Details of environmental
surveys on greenfield sites are outlined in a later section.
